Taylor: Buzzing To Fight For Three Points
Hibs midfielder Linzi Taylor describes the Hibees team as "buzzing" ahead of Friday night's Edinburgh Derby at Easter Road.
Taylor will potentially make her first Derby appearance in Hibs colours, as the girls are set to battle it out against their city rivals for the first time this season.
The experienced pro has starred for Celtic and Partick Thistle, as well as numerous clubs spanning across multiple continents, but cannot hide her excitement ahead of her first Capital Cup clash.
"It’s exciting," Taylor told Hibs TV.
"Even in previous weeks we have had a buzz about us, but this gives us that extra buzz.
"The changing room is buzzing. It should be a great day.
"The pitch is immaculate and it should be a great night to play some good football."
The Hibees won three of four Derby meetings last season, though Hearts did pip the Club to fourth-place in the SWPL table.
Understanding the pressure is on in front of a larger crowd, Taylor stresses the importance of staying composed and searching for three points regardless of the opponent.
"It’s always an added incentive [to beat your rivals] but the main priority for us is the three points
"We have got a confidence and a desire about the team - an ambition - that if we go and implement our game plan there is no reason we can’t take the three points on the night."
Much like Hibs, Hearts have started their season strong - with only one defeat, to Glasgow City, in their opening five league games.
Four large wins have the Gorgie side sitting behind Hibs in the table by just one point.
"Hearts are a powerful team," Taylor told the media.
"They have got big players who are good on the ball.
"They are a very confident footballing side. It’s more the work off the ball they may need to be more disciplined in."
Taylor continued to insist that both teams can play exciting, engaging football - something that she also believed can only be good for the Easter Road audience on Friday night.
"You look at the stadium. The grass is perfect.
"It’ll be a good viewing for anybody coming to watch. Get the ball down and play football.
"Hearts are a good footballing side, but so are we."
