Burnley pre match chat

0 7
Nice long wait for this one so thought I'd get in early.

12:30pm kick off on September 14th.

Two promotion favourites meet at Elland Road.

We are 4th, played 4, won 2, drawn 2, scored 7 and conceded 3.

Burnley are 6th, played 4, won 2, drawn 1, lost 1, scored 10 and conceded 3.

Confidence should be high for us, Elland Road should be bouncing, will see see an intense start and hope to grab an early goal?

Will we sit back and soak up pressure?

What will Burnley do? They actually were very clever vs Luton opening day and simply hoofed the ball over the Luton press and smacked 4 goals past them.

We could be vulnerable to that ourselves.

On the other hand as shown vs Blackburn yesterday Burnley can suffer from the same issues we can in attack, tippy tappy and no punch so perhaps sitting back and using the pace of Joseph and friends is sensible?

Will the fans put up with that for long at home?

They've had a turbulent summer Burnley so obviously if they don't get promoted it won't be Scott Parker at fault (I gest).

But at one point they seemed on the verge of losing everyone.

And they lost big players, Berge, Odobert, O'Shea, Zaroury.

But they managed to keep players it looked like they may lose as well and as we can see from this, not done badly.

So man for man a good match up,

Will it come down to manager skill? DF had imo his best tactical performance in similar circumstances vs Leicester 1st game, very good tactical performance.

So reason for optimism perhaps?

Scott Parker and Farke have faced similar criticism as managers actually so be interesting to see who comes out on top.

Confident?

Who starts?
