Nectarios Triantis Returns To Hibs!

We’re delighted to announce that Nectarios Triantis has re-joined Hibernian FC!

The defensive midfielder, who can also play at centre-half, will spend the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign with Hibs on loan from English Championship side Sunderland.

Triantis spent the latter half of last season at Easter Road, making 14 appearances in all competitions. Two of those came under David Gray at the end of the campaign, with him playing as a ‘number 6’.

The 21-year-old has been part of Sunderland’s First Team squad this summer and has made appearances in the English Championship and the EFL Cup.

Alongside his club exploits, Triantis has also been capped at Under-23 level for the Socceroos.

Hibernian FC Head Coach David Gray commented: “I’m delighted to bring Nectar back to the Club. He’s someone I really enjoyed working with last season and he’s another great character to add to the dressing room.

“Nectar is someone I see as a defensive midfielder who has also played a lot at centre-back, which naturally gives him a strong defensive mindset and discipline to dominate the middle of the pitch. I look forward to working with him once again.”

Hibernian FC Sporting Director Malky Mackay added: “Nectar is someone we identified early on in the transfer window, and we’ve been working hard to get this deal done.
