Southampton Currently Putting Target Through Medical

Southampton have agreed to sign Maxwel Cornet from West Ham on a season-long loan deal with the player now undergoing his medical with the Saints, according to Sky Sports News.

 

The Saints have not enjoyed a particularly great start to their campaign in the Premier League having lost both their opening two matches.

 

With the transfer window still open, manager Russell Martin is now trying to make sure that he signs enough quality players to help them survive.

 

 

Saints identified West Ham’s 25-year-old star as an option to look into early on deadline day.

 

Cornet possesses enough European experience having played in all three competitions – the Champions League, Europa League and the Europa Conference League and can add those experiences to the Southampton squad.

 

 

A deal has been agreed to sign Cornet on loan for the season.

 

The player is currently undergoing his medical checks and is set to be unveiled as a new Southampton player in the coming hours.

 

 

However, the Saints are aware of their squad size and are working on offloading players before the window shuts.
