Harry Kane is forever a Tottenham legend

Kane came through the ranks at Spurs and went on to become one of the most iconic players in the club’s history as well as in the history of the Premier League, breaking Jimmy Greaves’ long-held record for most goals in a Tottenham shirt.

However, the striker eventually decided to call time on his stay at his boyhood club last summer, swapping the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the Allianz Arena.

The England captain enjoyed plenty of individual success in his first season in Germany, registering a whopping 44 goals and 12 assists in 45 appearances for his new club (Transfermarkt).

His 36 Bundesliga strikes saw him awarded the European Golden Shoe, comfortably beating the likes of Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.

Harry Kane has no regrets about Spurs exit

On receiving the award, the striker said on Tuesday (via talkSPORT): “It’s really special. Obviously, it was a big step in my career to come to FC Bayern. It was one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life. I’m enjoying every moment of it so far.”

Bayern ended last season empty-handed and Kane admitted that he and his teammates are desperate to get their hands on major prizes in this new era under Vincent Kompany.

The former Tottenham man added: “I’m excited for this season especially, obviously we got off to a good start on Sunday. There’s a new energy in the building, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what we can achieve this season.

“[My goals are] to continue how I started last year, to hopefully score as many goals, if not more. But most importantly, it’s to win the titles.

“We know last year we fell short of what we wanted to achieve as a team, and I was part of that.

“As great as these awards are, we’re all hungry to have that success as a team again, and we have a great opportunity as a team this year to go and do that, and hopefully prove a few people wrong.”

Spurs Web Opinion

One would be extremely surprised if Bayern missed out on the Bundesliga for two seasons in a row.

It is the Champions League that will prove a real acid test for Kompany’s men as they will believe they can go toe-to-toe with the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City.
