Plymouth Will Only Sell Burnley Target If High Valuation Is Exceeded

Plymouth Argyle are set to reject Burnley’s offer to sign Morgan Whittaker on loan as they do not want to sell the player so close to the deadline unless their valuation is exceeded, according to The Athletic.

 

Burnley are making last-minute moves to restock their squad and have identified the 23-year-old as an option.

 

The winger was an ever-present figure under both Stephen Schumacher and Ian Foster last season, ending the season with 27 goal contributions as his club narrowly avoided the drop on the final day of the season.

 

 

Burnley, who are new to the Championship having dropped from the top-flight last season, are keen on signing him before Friday’s deadline.

 

They even knocked at Plymouth’s door with an offer to sign the player on loan with an option to buy if Burnley earn promotion.

 

 

However, the Pilgrims, who have Wayne Rooney in charge, are set to reject that offer.

 

They are against the idea of selling Whittaker this close to the deadline as they believe that they will not have enough time to find a replacement.

 

 

A deal will only be sanctioned if Burnley are able to exceed their high valuation for the player.
