When, where, and how to watch Newcastle vs Tottenham in the Premier League

0 2

Tottenham Hotspur bagged their first win of the season against Everton last weekend, but now they face a far sterner test with a clash against Newcastle United. Here’s how to watch the game and which players are available.

After a disappointing 1-1 draw in the opening game of the season against newly-promoted Leicester City, Spurs needed to step it up in front of their own fans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and they duly delivered.

A 4-0 demolition of Everton, with goals from Yves Bissouma, Cristian Romero, and a brace from skipper Heung-min Son appears to have calmed the fanbase somewhat. But, a more difficult challenge awaits.

When and where is the game?

Tottenham’s next game will be played at St. James’ Park on Sunday 1st September, 2024. The match is scheduled for a 1:30 pm kick-off.

How to watch Newcastle vs Spurs

The game will be available to watch live on Sky Sports Premier League or Main Event for customers who have the Sky Sports package.

Coverage will start at 12:30 pm, with pre-match discussion and news. Be warned, there will be reduced post-match analysis as Manchester United take on Liverpool at 4:00 pm and the Sky Sports team will move on to talk about that game.

Team news

Spurs will be sweating on the fitness of Dominic Solanke ahead of the game, with the big-money signing potentially still out with an ankle injury.

Ange Postecoglou confirmed the injury was not serious, but couldn’t offer much in the way of an accurate return date. All we know is, Solanke will almost definitely be back for the North London derby on September 15, but he may well be unavailable for the Newcastle game.

The good news is Rodrigo Bentancur will be available again after recovering from his concussion. Destiny Udogie, who was substituted in the second half against Everton with some soreness and fatigue, should be cleared to play, too.

For Newcastle United, Fabian Schar will still be suspended after his red card against Southampton. Lewis Miley is out injured until October, while defenders Jamaal Lascelles and Sven Botman are unavailable until the New Year.

The Spurs Web prediction

Going to St James’ Park is rarely a fruitful venture for us, and it’s hard to know what version of Tottenham will show up for this one. That said, Newcastle haven’t exactly set the world alight so far this season, so I think it’ll be points shared here. I’ll go for a 1-1 draw.
