WATCH: Wyatt Thompson previews K-State football season on K-Nation

0 2

MANHATTAN, KS. (KSNT) – For the last 23 seasons, K-State football fans have been listening to Wyatt Thompson on the radio.

The Voice of the Wildcats made a stop at the K-Nation studio on Sunday to preview the upcoming campaign.

Thompson started with what he's seen from the starting quarterback, Avery Johnson, as he enters his true sophomore season.

"Avery Johnson's just a terrific talent, can run it, can throw it, good leader, good student of the game," Thompson said.

On games that could challenge this K-State team, Thompson quickly pointed to a much-improved KU program. After that - he landed on a week two road test.

"I think the Tulane game could be hard, because it's going to be at 11 o'clock in the morning, it's going to be hot, it's going to be muggy," Thompson said. "Who knows what they're going to be: coaching change, they lost a great quarterback, but they'll be good."

Thompson also dove into his process of calling a game, which includes months of research and practice attendance before the games begin.

The full interview with Thompson can be watched above.
