Yves Bissouma was suspended by Spurs

Bissouma was suspended for Tottenham’s opening game of the Premier League season against Leicester City after posting a video of himself inhaling laughing gas on social media.

Ange Postecoglou subsequently called on the midfielder to win back his trust by behaving more professionally and the player has seemingly done just that, with the Australian naming the Mali international in the starting eleven against Everton.

Bissouma delivered an outstanding performance against the Toffees as Tottenham ran out 4-0 winners, with the 27-year-old opening the scoring for the home side with a brilliant finish from the edge of the box.

Postecoglou is full of smiles about Bissouma

Postecoglou admitted that he was delighted with the way that the former Brighton man responded and joked that he is going to ban him again so that the player delivers a similar performance against Newcastle.

When asked about Bissouma, the Tottenham head coach told BBC Match of The Day: “I’m going to ban him next week and bring him back! It seems to work. He is a fantastic player. He was a key contributor today.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Bissouma certainly played like someone with a point to prove and I was particularly impressed by the midfielder’s passing, which has not always been one of his strong suits.

However, against Everton, he delivered several perfectly weighted through balls over the top of the Toffees backline for the likes of Kulusevski, Johnson and others to run onto.
