Alasdair Gold has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur may be set to earn a decent chunk of change over the coming days as their former players, Marcus Edwards and Jack Clarke, are both likely to seal late transfers.

Sell-on clauses offer Spurs a boost

A couple of days ago, we relayed a report from Fabrizio Romano stating that Clarke is set for a return to the Premier League.

Romano revealed that the former Tottenham man is expected to swap Sunderland for newly promoted Premier League side, Ipswich Town, in a £20m deal.

This is significant for Spurs as they retain a 25 per cent sell-on clause for the 23-year-old (GiveMeSport), with the Lilywhites potentially set to receive £5m for that deal.

Marcus Edwards could be on the move

Gold has now taken to social media to reveal that Clarke is not the only former Tottenham star who will be on the move in the final week of the transfer window.

He pointed out that Edwards is also set to leave Sporting Lisbon in a deal worth €15m (£12.7m), with the North London club owed 35 per cent of the transfer fee.

However, Alasdair Gold confirmed that despite reports linking Edwards with a return to Tottenham earlier this summer, Ange Postecoglou’s men are no longer looking to re-sign their academy graduate.

Tottenham’s decision to add sizeable sell-on clauses to Clarke and Edwards has been vindicated and the club will be hoping that the same also happens in the future with Jude Sonnup-Bell, who completed a switch to Cordoba a few days ago.
