Grant Scott spoke to the media ahead of Hibernian Women's upcoming trip to K-Park to take on Motherwell this Sunday (25 August).

With 13 goals scored and zero conceded in two large home wins over Aberdeen and Dundee United over the past week, morale in the Hibees camp is undeniably high.

Hibs' 100% league record is only matched by Celtic and Rangers thus far, but Scott is more satisfied with how his are sharing the wealth when it comes to finding the back of the net.

"It’s really pleasing and obviously the goals are good, [but] the most pleasing part for me is the spread of the goals," Scott told the media.

"There are a few players now contributing. Last year we were very reliant on one striker, but now you are seeing the squad depth that we’ve got.

"There are multiple players producing the goods, so it’s really positive.

Going into further detail regarding his side's approach to attacking the opposition, Scott admitted the ruthlessness of his players is down to their own football intelligence and positional awareness.

"The team structure is definitely a little bit different.

"We’ve made a conscious effort to allow the forward players the freedom to make the moves they want to do and not be too prescribed in what they are doing in their movement patterns.

"It’s all about them getting the timings right and having the vision to see where to be at the right moment. It’s just pleasing to see them playing with such freedom and flair at the moment."

Sunday's opponents Motherwell started off their 2024/25 SWPL campaign with two victories before a harsh 5-1 defeat to last season's league champions Celtic.

"Without being too disrespectful [to recent opposition], I think Motherwell are a step up in opposition for us. Their performance on Wednesday [versus Celtic] looked closer than the scoreline suggests.

"They looked very threatening and well-organised. I expect the same again. They will see us as an opportunity to pick up points, and they will be on top of us from the first whistle.

"We just have to manage that - like we did against Partick in the opening game of the season. We’re focusing more on ourselves this season.

"We have to go into the game with confidence, but we are deeply respectful of Motherwell and their coaching team."
