Match Preview: Queen’s Park v Hearts – 11 Aug 24

The ScottishPower WPL1 curtain rises tomorrow as Queen's Park play Heart of Midlothian at Ochilview Park.

The Spiders host their first competitive match at Stenhousemuir’s stadium on the back of a 2-1 victory over Kilmarnock in their last friendly match.

Queen’s Park come into ScottishPowerWPL 1 in good spirits on the back of a hugely successful season which saw The Spiders comfortable secure the ScottishPower WPL2 title.

The Edinburgh-side spent their pre-season in Spain for five days of warm weather training and make the trip from the capital for their first competitive match since their Scottish Cup final defeat to Rangers.

Eva Olid’s side will make the journey to Stenhousemuir filled with optimism if a promising season ahead.

Manager Craig Joyce’s is looking forward to the game: “It’s a very tough opening game for us but these are the games you want to be involved in – you want to challenge yourself against the best.

“We know it’s going to be a season filled with lots of ups and downs, but we are also looking forward to the challenge.”

Match Tickets – Admission to the match is via pay at the gate, with Cash Only.

  • Concessions: £2

Car Parking – There is no spectator car parking available at Ochilview Park. Supporters are reminded to park responsibly in the surrounding area.
Catering – The catering kiosk within the stadium offer a range of snacks and beverages. Payment is via Cash Only.

Stadium Entry – Supporters of both sides should enter via turnstiles 1&2.
