Man Utd learn transfer fee for 26-yo Manuel Ugarte alternative - Report

0 2

Burnley are reportedly demanding around £30 million fee for Manchester United target Sander Berge.

The 26-year-old was a key member of Vincent Kompany’s team last season, featuring in 37 Premier League matches and scoring a goal.

But despite his excellent displays, the Clarets suffered relegation to the Championship.

The midfielder has a contract at Turf Moor until 2027 but the Lancashire club are open to selling him if they receive a £30m offer, per The Sun

Manchester United are looking to bolster their midfield after adding both a defender and a forward in Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee.

They were heavily linked with Paris Saint-Germain’s Manuel Ugarte but have now abandoned their pursuit of the Uruguayan

The Red Devils were not ready to meet PSG’s £51m valuation for Ugarte who had a mixed debut season in Paris after joining them from Sporting Lisbon last summer.

United have now switched their focus to alternative targets, with Sander Berge emerging as one of the names on their shortlist

However, they are only prepared to fork out £20m for the 26-year-old who joined Burnley from Sheffield United for £12m.

Berge mainly plays in central midfield but can also be given the defensive role. Standing at 6 feet 5 inches, he is taller than Ugarte and is highly rated for his distribution and blocking ability.

The Norwegian also boasts Premier League experience, having played 66 matches in the English top-flight.
