Re: Muay Thai
Anyone else into this?
My son is at the middleweight category although not a particularly high level. Was hoping to see it televised at The Olympics. Beats all other compact sorts hands down though
It's all been streamed live in its entirety on t'internet - what more do you want ?
Until there is a breakthrough British fighter, or you start getting large crowds at UK events, you won't see much coverage of it on the BBC..... and this applies to many many of the Olympic sports. Wrestling, for example, is a long standing Olympics event - but no coverage.
The other thing is that as a demonstration sport (at this Olympics) its still many years away from inclusion and won't be at the 2028 Olympics anyway. Personally i think there are others that should be included ahead of it ... for example Kabaddi (which was also massiely popular on UK TV at one time)
The Asian games is where you want to be looking for the time being - and therein lies the problem .... sports need to be worldwide to be at the Olympics ... ie the reason for no baseball or American football ... i think
