Report: Bournemouth stance on Solanke amidst potential Spurs part-exchange offer

PA Sport journalist George Sessions has said that despite suggestions of Tottenham offering some of their own players to Bournemouth as a part of the Dominic Solanke deal, the Cherries prefer a straight cash deal.

Tottenham want to offer a Solanke swap deal

A number of outlets over the last 48 hours have revealed that Bournemouth have made it clear to Spurs and others that Solanke’s £65m release clause would have to be met in order to sign him.

This includes a recent update by The Mirror, who revealed that while Ange Postecoglou’s men are keen on landing the Englishman, they are not likely to break their transfer record for the player.

The report suggested that the Lilywhites could instead offer some of their own players to Andoni Iraolo’s men to sweeten the deal.

Bournemouth want a cash deal for Solanke

Sessions has now taken to social media to reveal that Bourmeouth previously held an interest in Oliver Skipp but he points out that they are now well-stocked in the middle of the park.

The journalist further asserted that the South Coast club also considered a loan offer for Alejo Veliz back in January. However, he added that as things stand, the Cherries would be happy to hold out for £65m.

Spurs Web Opinion

It sounds like Tottenham have no choice but to pay Solanke’s release clause if they wish to sign him.

I do wonder if Spurs will soon turn their efforts back to Ivan Toney, who could potentially be available for around £40m-£45m.
