Report: Spurs face one ‘major obstacle’ in the race for Dominic Solanke

According to GiveMeSport, Tottenham Hotspur are facing a major roadblock in their pursuit of Dominic Solanke, with Bournemouth showing no inclination to lower their asking price.

Spurs like the look of Dominic Solanke

The report backs up what we have heard from various sources over recent weeks by revealing that Solanke has emerged as a key target for Spurs.

The Lilywhites are thought to be particularly attracted to the 26-year-old due to his homegrown status.

However, the Cherries are allegedly demanding that Ange Postecoglou’s men pay £65m for their star man.

Bournemouth are not willing to offer a discount

The South Coast club are allegedly unwilling to lower their demands as they do not expect the centre-forward to push for a move this summer.

It is explained that Andoni Iraola’s men are in a strong position, with Solanke having three years left on his deal and also attracting interest from Newcastle United.

The report adds that Tottenham have thus stopped short of making an offer for the former Liverpool man and are unlikely to meet Bournemouth’s demands.

Spurs Web Opinion

This seems to be the same situation as the Eberechi Eze and Pedro Neto deals. If Tottenham want to sign players with Premier League pedigree, they have no choice but to spend big.

I fear these transfer pursuits might drag on until the final week of the transfer window.
