Report: Spurs could make a part-exchange offer to sign Dominic Solanke

According to The Mirror, Tottenham may offer some of their players to Bournemouth in an effort to bring down their asking price for Dominic Solanke.

Tottenham want to sign Solanke

Various outlets over the last 24 hours have reported that Spurs’ pursuit of Solanke appears rather complicated for the club to actually pull off.

This includes an update by GiveMeSport, who revealed that Bournemouth are refusing to lower their £65m valuation of the centre-forward.

The report explained that the Cherries are in a strong bargaining position since Solanke has three years left on his deal and the striker is not expected to agitate for a move.

Tottenham could offer a player swap deal

The same information has now been backed up by The Mirror, who say that the South Coast club have made it clear that their star man will not leave until the £65m release clause is matched.

It is revealed that Spurs are unlikely to pay a club-record fee to sign Solanke but they could come up with another strategy to test Bournemouth’s resolve.

That is to include some of their fringe players in the operation and put forward a part-exchange proposal to Andoi Iraola’s men.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Bournemouth refuse to budge on the asking price, perhaps Tottenham might be tempted to turn their attention back to Ivan Toney, with Brentford likely to lower their demands as we get into the final few weeks of the transfer window.

I’m not sure who Spurs would even offer in a swap? Oliver Skipp? Some youth players on loan? There doesn’t seem to be an obvious choice there.
