Tottenham Hotspur Remain Keen On Star But Face Player’s Will Issue

Tottenham Hotspur are still interested in Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, but face an issue convincing the player as Atletico Madrid look to sign him, according to talkSPORT.

 

Gallagher has entered the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge and the club are open to selling him, with an offer from Atletico Madrid now accepted.

 

A host of sides are admirers of Gallagher and he has been on Tottenham’s radar for a lengthy period, with Spurs big fans of what he brings to the table.

 

 

They are still interested in Gallagher, but have not put a bid in to Chelsea yet and there is an issue with the player’s desire.

 

It has been suggested that despite Tottenham’s continuous persistence, Gallagher is not ready to join a rival club in the English top flight and prioritises Champions League football for the upcoming season.

 

 

That puts Atletico Madrid in pole position to sign Gallagher, despite the Spanish side not having agreed personal terms.

 

Chelsea offered him a contract extension on Wednesday but Gallagher rejected the contract extension and he is set to decide his future soon.

 

 

Whether Spurs will make any moves to try to change Gallagher’s stance is unclear, amid Atletico Madrid closing in.
