Tottenham Hotspur have a few players left at the club that they are keen to move on, and one such player is now all but confirmed to be leaving this summer.
Bryan Gil deal is nearly completed
After a dismal three years at the club, it seems Bryan Gil is now jetting off back to Spain again for another temporary departure from Spurs. According to Fabrizio Romano, Gil’s move to Girona is now all but complete, and we now know some details about the switch.
Romano tweeted: “Bryan Gil to Girona, here we go! Deal agreed for Spanish winger to join on initial loan from Spurs. Exclusive details: Bryan Gil will extend his contract at Spurs with €15m release clause. Girona have priority to sign him… or other clubs can do it, up to the player.”
That release clause equates to £12.68m, though it appears Girona do not have an obligation to meet it.
Earlier today, Romano tweeted another update, reading: “Negotiations between Girona and Tottenham for Bryan Gil, advancing to the final stages. Details of the formula are being clarified but Spurs know Gil only wants Girona… or he’d stay at the club.”
A long time coming
This follows Romano’s previous update on Gil which claimed personal terms were agreed between the player and his prospective new club, and that the young winger was determined to make the switch to Girona this summer.
Similarly, a report from Sport recently claimed the deal was all but complete, with only the finer details left to iron out.

Another year, another loan away from Spurs for Bryan Gil.
I really hope this is the last time we send him away temporarily, because this constant attempt to sell him every summer is getting really boring and frustrating now.
Please, Tottenham, take that number 11 shirt off him!
