Rowe featured as a trialist in a 3-1 friendly victory over the National League South side.

According to the Manchester Evening News, he is being considered for an academy player-coach role with the Red Devils.

The hybrid role was first introduced by United in 2021 and has since seen Paul McShane and Tom Huddlestone take up the position.

Both players worked as coaches alongside being available for the under-21 side.

Academy graduate McShane returned to the club for the 2021/22 season, making six appearances for the under-21s.

He has since transitioned into a full-time youth coaching role at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, Huddlestone scored once in 24 under-21 appearances after arriving in 2022.

He left the club after two years earlier this summer to become assistant manager to Shaun Maloney at Wigan.

Rowe could be the latest to serve as a player-coach following his trial appearance.

The veteran winger, who was born in Wythenshawe, Manchester, is currently a free agent after leaving Doncaster at the end of June.
