Blow for United with 25yo France international close to joining Euro club - Report

Manchester United have been attempting to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Manuel Ugarte this summer. 

United have already agreed personal terms with the 23-year-old but have been unable to finalise a deal.

The Red Devils have reportedly identified Monaco star Youssouf Fofana as an alternative, but they are set to miss out on the player. 

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan are close to sealing a move for the France international. 

The 25-year-old is set to join the Serie A outfit for a €14 million fee, with additional bonuses still under discussion. 

Fofana has reportedly agreed to sign a four-year contract that will double his salary.

Missing out on the Frenchman is not expected to affect United as he wasn’t their priority target. 

The Red Devils want to offload Casemiro who is showing signs of decline.

However, with interest from the Saudi Pro League waning, he may stay at Old Trafford.

Ugarte would be an excellent acquisition for United but a deal is not expected to be easy.
