Man United star close to agreeing personal terms with European giants - report

Paris Saint-Germain are planning a sensational swoop for Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, according to French reporter Santi Aouna.

Sancho, whose United career has been a rollercoaster ride since his high-profile move from Borussia Dortmund in 2021, is close to agreeing personal terms with the Ligue 1 champions.

The England international is understood to be ‘extremely excited’ by the prospect of joining the ambitious project in the French capital.

Sancho returned to pre-season training at Carrington just over a week ago after a positive six-month loan spell at Dortmund.

The 24-year-old was shipped off to Signal Iduna Park for the second half of the 2023/24 season after falling out with United manager Erik ten Hag.

The fallout stemmed from a public spat on social media, where Sancho called out Ten Hag for lying about his training performances. His failure to apologise seemingly sealed his fate at Old Trafford.

Sancho made 21 appearances across all competitions for Dortmund.

He contributed two goals and three assists in 14 Bundesliga games and played a crucial role in Dortmund’s fairytale run to the Champions League final.

Ten Hag and Sancho held positive discussions upon the player’s return to Old Trafford, and both parties agreed to a truce.

However, it appears the reunion may not last long, with PSG now close to agreeing personal terms with Sancho.

United had been willing to cash in on Sancho this summer. It remains to be seen if their position remains the same even after the player and Ten Hag agreed to put their differences aside.

They paid around £70 million to sign Sancho from Dortmund and will likely demand at least £50m for the winger with two years left on his contract.

PSG’s interest in Sancho presents a potential opportunity for a swap deal involving Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte.

United have shown an interest in the former Sporting CP midfielder, so both clubs could find a mutually beneficial solution.

There’s also the possibility of separate deals that allow United to bank full profit from Sancho’s potential exit.
