Blue is the new black – EURO’S 2024 GOLDEN BOOT

0 3

Following the buzz generated by the Euros, online retailer, which sells big brands for 65% less than full price MandM has reported an 164.5% increase in orders of football boots from the start of the tournament to the final on Sunday.

Whilst many will be weighing up Adidas vs Nike or Puma vs Umbro, perhaps we should all be taking more notice of the colour.

New research by retailer MandM has shown a shift in winners of the Golden Boot since 1960 – over a third (35%) wore bright coloured boots as opposed to black, with the majority of these coming in the last few decades.

This year’s Euro’s Golden Boot winners also showcased this new trend including England captain Harry Kane (bright yellow), Spain’s Dani Olmo (white) and Netherlands Cody Gakpo (blue).

According to colour psychology, blue is often associated with calmness and reliability, traits that can enhance a player’s focus and consistency during high-pressure matches.

Whilst we might not be playing for quite the same stakes as the likes of Harry Kane, choosing a bright coloured boot this summer could make the difference in a match right when it counts.
