Covid on the rise in Brum ? (20 replies)

Spent two and a half hours walking around Soho Road yesterday, Quite nostalgic really, seeing some lads i went to school with now running their parents' shops, walking past old houses i'd spent time being brought up in, schools i went to at some point etc etc etc.

... actual purpose of my visit was having refurbished alternator and starter motor supplied and fitted on a vehicle - and if anyone needs this service (12 months guarantee and warranty) at an absolute fraction of the cost of new then i massively recommend Sunni at Recon Autos on Grove Lane ... looks like a shop but has workshop round the back for fitting etc... usually fit you in at a day's notice, For example ... cost of new alternator and pulley and belt on a 2004 200,00 mile Estima was quaoted to me as £585 in Worcestershire ..... at Sunni's (who i trust implicitly) £150.00 (as long as you let them keep your knackered alternator for them to refurb at a later date) - average time take = 1.5 hours including 20 mins running engine afterwards to ensure charge is steady and to recharge your (almost certainly) dead battery.

PS .. this wasn't "mate's rates" either

Anyway - my point is, everyone was saying they knew someone who currently had Covid, quite badly too, despite being jabbed, and almost all the shops were insisting on face masks and proper social distancing with signs everywhere.

I checked some news site but reporting seems to be relatively low key on this.

So how bad is it at the moment up in Brum generally ? or this just some localised outbreak confined to Handsworth ?
