Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Lucas Bergvall has made his decision ahead of the new season on which shirt number he will wear.
Lucas Bergvall has selected his Spurs squad number
The 18-year-old officially linked up with Tottenham on July 1st following the switch he agreed back in the winter transfer window when he joined from Swedish side Djurgarden for a fee approaching £8.5m (BBC).
Bergvall has opted for the number 15 shirt, which was previously worn by central defender Eric Dier prior to leaving the club this summer, the club have confirmed via the official Spurs site and social channels.
Dier had worn the number 15 on his back since his move from Sporting in 2014, where he famously scored a late winner against West Ham United on his Premier League debut.
Bergvall is Tottenham’s new number 15
Bergvall will be hoping for equally a good start to his life at Tottenham, with the North Londoners having beaten Catalan giants Barcelona to his signature.
The teenager follows in the footsteps of recent signing Archie Gray in selecting his squad number, with the former Leeds product having chosen to wear number the number 14 jersey.
Bergvall will be hoping to take to the field tomorrow when Tottenham face Hearts at Tynecastle in a pre-season friendly which kicks off at 7pm UK time.
Tottenham will submit their final squad list of squad numbers to the Premier League prior to the opening weekend of the 2024/25 season.
