According to The Sun, Rennes have informed clubs that it would take a mammoth offer to prise away Tottenham target Desire Doue this summer.

Tottenham and Bayern like Desire Doue

The report backs up what we have already heard from various sources over the last few days, claiming that Bayern Munich’s opening offer of around £30m for Doue has been turned down by Rennes.

The French club have allegedly made it clear to clubs across Europe that they would only let their budding star leave for a fee of around £52m.

The outlet says that Bayern and Paris Saint-Germain remain keen on securing the 19-year-old’s services while in the Premier League, Chelsea are determined to challenge Tottenham for the player’s signature.

Tottenham are still in the race for Desire Doue

In fact, it is asserted that both London clubs are intent on swiftly concluding a deal for Doue rather than letting the transfer saga drag on.

The publication adds that Blues boss Enzo Maresca views the Rennes academy graduate as ‘the perfect addition’ to his squad as he looks to revamp his attack ahead of the new season.

It looks like it could be a hotly-contested race for Doue over the coming weeks.
