Report: Spurs now ready to offer player to other clubs as talks collapse

According to BBC Sport reporter Nizaar Kinsella, Tottenham Hotspur are now set to offer Djed Spence to other clubs after their negotiations with Genoa for the right-back collapsed.

Spence is unlikely to join Genoa this summer

Earlier this summer, Spence was widely backed to complete a permanent switch to Genoa on the back of his loan spell at the club during the second half of last season (GiveMeSport).

However, over the last couple of weeks, it has become clear that Tottenham and Genoa have been unable to agree on the fee, with various Italian outlets suggesting that the move has collapsed.

This includes an update by La Repubblica (via CalcioGirona), who claimed that the North London club are not in the mood to give the Italian side any ‘discounts’, which is why a deal might now be off.

Spurs will offer Djed Spence to other clubs

The publication asserted that Genoa are now concentrating on other alternatives, including Napoli right-back Alessandro Zanoli, who’s believed to be available for a cheaper price.

Kinsella has now taken to social media to reveal that Alberto Gilardino’s men have not yet given up on Spence and continue to hold an interest in him.

However, he reveals that Tottenham will now offer the former Middlesbrough man to other clubs as they look to push through a swift sale.

Spence will likely have plenty of takers in England, given the promise that he has shown in his loan spells at Leeds and Genoa.

I would not be surprised if one of the newly promoted Premier League sides look to take him on board.
