According to Fabrizio Romano, AC Milan have now made fresh contacts with Tottenham Hotspur over a deal to sign Emerson Royal.
With Spurs’ newest signing Archie Gray capable of serving as Pedro Porro’s understudy at right-back, it is clear now that Emerson’s time at the North London club is up.
Recent reports from Italy have suggested that Milan are leading the race for the Brazilian and are confident of striking a deal.
This includes an update last week from Gazzetta dello Sport, which claimed that the 25-year-old remains the top right-back target for Rossoneri, who are hopeful of signing him for a discounted fee.

Romano has now taken to social media to state that Milan have once again held direct talks with the Premier League club regarding a deal for Emerson.
The Spurs star is allegedly keen on moving to the San Siro and is thought to have given the green light for the transfer.
However, the journalist adds that there is still a gap in the valuation of the two sides, with Tottenham wanting around €25m for the player while the Serie A club want to pay a lower fee.
