CB is one of those positions where lots of players get better over time and later in their careers. He could have another 10 years as a footballer so it’s not completely impossible he makes a decent top league defender but, as has been much picked over, he’s currently quite poor at several attributes that make a CB at this level. Maybe the Italian clubs think they can teach him and a deal at 10-15m including lots of add ons isn’t much of a gamble these days.
