Journalist reveals Tottenham would have to pay around £20m for winger
According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Tottenham Hotspur would have to pay more to activate Chris Fuhrich’s release clause than any Bundesliga club.

Fuhrich enjoyed an impressive 2023-24 season with Stuttgart, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists across all competitions and the winger is currently with the German national team at the Euros.
It was Christian Falk who first reported earlier this month that Tottenham had been impressed by the 26-year-old’s displays and are set to battle Bayern Munich for the player’s services.
The journalist stated that the attacker has a release clause of €23.5m (£19.8m) in his contract at the MHPArena.

However, Plettenberg has now provided more details on Fuhrich’s release clause, revealing that it is slightly more complicated than what other sources have suggested.
He explained that the clause would have to be triggered before the end of this month and that it is higher for foreign clubs than it is for German sides.
The Sky Germany reporter asserted that while Bundesliga clubs would only have to pay €20m (£16.8m) to trigger the clause, Premier League sides would have to pay €23m-€25m (£19.4m-£21.1m) to sign the winger.
Plettengerb tweeted: ‘Until the end of June, the release clause for Chris Führich can be triggered! The 26-year-old winger is in the final Euro squad of Germany. Now there are many incorrect figures circulating.
‘Been told: Due to his participation in the Euros, he now costs €20m for Bayern, Dortmund, and all other German clubs. A move to the Premier League would cost €23-25m!’

£20m for a player of Fuhrich’s ability is a bargain and one can understand why so many clubs are exploring a deal for the German international.
However, there is very little evidence to suggest that the 26-year-old is anywhere close to the top of Postecoglou’s wishlist.
