Report: Spurs and Arsenal could battle it out for £50m midfielder this summer
According to journalist Ignazio Genuardi, Arsenal have now joined Tottenham Hotspur in the race for Everton midfielder Amadou Onana.
Spurs are looking for a new holding midfielder
Onana, who has been a fixture in Everton’s midfield since his switch to Goodison Park from Lille in 2022, has been backed to leave the Merseyside club this summer.
Paul O’Keefe, who regularly breaks reliable information about the ongoings at Hotspur Way, revealed back in April that Tottenham plotting a summer move for the 22-year-old.
Subsequently, TEAMtalk reported that the Lilywhites are expected to face competition for the midfielder’s signature from both Chelsea and Barcelona.
Arsenal enter the race for Amadou Onana
Genuardi has now taken to social media to state that Arsenal are also keen on securing Onana, with the Gunners said to be ‘strongly interested’ in the Belgian.
He makes it clear that Mikel Arteta’s men have competition to contend with from their North London rivals as well as from Spain for the midfielder.
Finally, the journalist states that the Toffees are expected to demand €60m (£50.5m) for the former Lille man’s services.

While Onana has been decent at Everton, he has not pulled up any trees. It is quite interesting to see that so many top clubs are interested in the Belgian.
It seems like many managers and those who work within the game believe that the 22-year-old will thrive in a better team when surrounded by better players.
