Report: Pochettino could join yet another Tottenham Premier League rival

Football Insider have revealed that Mauricio Pochettino is one of the candidates to take over as Manchester United’s head coach this summer.

Pochettino parted ways with Chelsea earlier this week after just one year in charge at Stamford Bridge, with the decision perhaps coming as a surprise to many, given the strong finish that the Blues had to the campaign.

According to Football Insider, the former Spurs boss is now considered a ‘serious and very interesting’ option to take over at United by the Red Devils hierarchy.

The report says that the Manchester club are expected to part ways with Erik Ten Hag this summer irrespective of whether they win the FA Cup final or not.

Pochettino is now potentially in line to replace the Dutchman in the hot seat, with the 52-year-old expected to receive offers in the next few weeks as he looks to make a return to management immediately before the start of next season.

Meanwhile, The Daily Mail are reporting that the former Tottenham manager is also one of the leading candidates to replace Gareth Southgate as England boss if the position becomes available after the Euros.

With the Man Utd and Bayern Munich jobs both expected to be vacant this summer, I suspect Pochettino was quite happy to leave Chelsea as it was clear from day one that it was not an ideal environment for him to work in, with the Argentine hardly having much say over the big decisions.
