Report: Premier League club are willing to listen to offers for Tottenham target

Football Insider have handed Tottenham a boost by revealing that Aston Villa are now ready to sell Jacob Ramsey this summer.

Ramsey has fallen down Unai Emery’s pecking order at Villa and it has been widely reported over recent months that Tottenham have asked about the midfielder’s availability (The Athletic).

Just a couple of weeks ago, journalist Dean Jones said on Ranks FC Ultras Podcast that the Lilywhites are continuing to keep an eye on the 22-year-old ahead of the summer transfer.

A few days ago, The Telegraph handed Spurs a blow by suggesting that the North London club are expected to be priced out of a move for Ramsey this summer, adding that the Villa academy graduate wants to remain at his boyhood club.

However, Football Insider have now claimed that the midfielder is likely to exit Villa Park this summer due to the club’s financial situation.

The report points out that although the Midlands side would prefer to keep the player, they would have to sell some players to comply with PSR and ensure they are not at risk of a points deduction.

Ramsey is the one who is expected to be ‘sacrificed’ since the fee they get for the youngster will go down as pure profit in their books.

I would not be surprised if Tottenham tested the waters with an offer for Ramsey over the coming weeks but it is clear that Conor Gallagher remains Postecoglou’s top midfield target at the moment.
