Forward ‘likes’ a post on social media asking if he will stay at Spurs this summer

Despite rumours surrounding his future at the club of late, Tottenham Hotspur’s Richarlison has seemingly indicated he will be staying at Spurs this summer after liking a fan’s comment on social media.

It has been a bittersweet second season at Tottenham for Richarlison this year. The Brazilian has seemingly found his feet with the Lilywhites, scoring 11 league goals and enjoying a real purple patch at the start of 2024 where he scored nine goals in eight games (Transfermarkt).

However, his season has been blighted by injuries yet again, and Richarlison did not play a part in the final three games of the campaign.

With Spurs still yet to replace Harry Kane after last summer, it is thought there will be a new striker arriving in North London this summer. In fact, there is a belief that Ange Postecoglou may even sign two new forwards in the off-season (Football Insider).

What this means for Richarlison’s future is unclear, but he has been repeatedly named as a player that Spurs would consider offers for this summer (Paul O’Keefe).

Is Richarlison staying at Spurs?

The striker is never one to shy away and subtlety has never been his strong point, so his latest activity on social media has not gone unnoticed, with many reading into what it could mean.

After sharing a video of his highlights of the season, Richarlison then ventured into the comments section on the post on TikTok to find a fan asking, “You staying mate?”

Richarlison liked the comment but did not actively reply with an answer either way.

It is a bit of a reach to say that this means Richarlison is definitely staying at Spurs, but I would say it certainly points towards his intention and desire to remain with the club. A lot will depend on what offers we receive for him, and who else we can look to in the transfer market.
