Fabrizio Romano says one Tottenham player could be sold as early as June
Fabrizio Romano has said that Emerson Royal could be one of the first players out of the door at Tottenham as AC Milan are set to push ahead with a move for the right-back.
It has been widely reported over the last few weeks that Spurs want to cash in Emerson Royal, with Football Insider evening claiming recently that the Brazilian’s representatives have already begun looking for a new club for their client ahead of the summer transfer window.
Many outlets have named Milan as a potential destination for the defender. This includes an update on Tuesday by Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness), who claimed that the Rossoneri were keen on signing a right-back and had set their sights on the Tottenham man.
However, the publication added that Spurs still ‘believe in Emerson’s qualities’ and are expected to demand €30m (£25.7m) for his services.
Tottenham could sell Emerson Royal this summer
Romano has now offered an update on the full-back, claiming that Milan have identified him as a priority target and could complete his signing in June.
The journalist told GiveMeSport: “In terms of outgoings, I expect Emerson Royal to leave because Tottenham are looking at a new right-back to have a new backup option for Pedro Porro – obviously they are super happy with Porro.
“But they want one more to create some competition and then Emerson Royal could leave. He has two years left on his contract, and there is strong interest from AC Milan.
“Milan have Emerson Royal on top of their list of a new right-back and they want to be fast in their negotiations. In June, already they could make it happen, but Emerson Royal has a really good chance to be one of the players leaving Tottenham in the summer.”

Spurs cannot afford to do what they have done in previous transfer windows and wait until the end to get rid of their deadwood.
Given the sheer number of players who have to be sold, the club would have to get a lot of them out of the door early and cannot afford to haggle too long on the price.
