Mark Lawrenson makes confident claim about Spurs after Anfield performance

Mark Lawrenson has said that Tottenham showed many encouraging signs against Liverpool last week and backed Ange Postecoglou’s men to comfortably brush aside Burnley on Saturday.

Postecoglou is now under immense pressure after Spurs fell to four back-to-back losses against Newcastle, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.

However, the Australian is certainly not one to change his methods and he even told Optus Sport a couple of days ago that he is enjoying the criticism levelled at his methods and is relishing the challenge of proving detractors wrong.

He will have to turn around the ship quickly and will want to see his side finish the season strongly so that there is some optimism around the club heading into the summer.

Tottenham vs Burnley score prediction

Lawrenson has said that despite Tottenham’s poor results of late, he is a fan of Postecoglou, and backed the Lilywhites to get back to winning ways against the Clarets at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The pundit told Paddy Power: “Tottenham will beat Burnley easily. Spurs kept the ball great against Liverpool but they never went anywhere until Richarlison came on and they thought, ‘F this, let’s go and have a bash’. They looked completely different and I’m a fan of the manager but I just didn’t get it. Tottenham 3-0 Burnley.”

Spurs Web Opinion

This is the perfect game for Spurs to have to come out of this run as Burnley will look to play their football instead of defending deep and looking to play on the counter-attack. Tottenham desperately need a convincing win in order to bring back the feel-good factor around the club.
