Napoli Fail With Bid For Tottenham Target, Told Price Has Increased

0 5

Napoli have failed with an offer for Tottenham Hotspur target Alessandro Buongiorno, with Torino upping his price tag.

Buongiorno has impressed at Torino this season and has a host of clubs chasing his signature heading into the summer.

Tottenham have held initial talks to discover how much he might cost, but Napoli have gone a step further by putting in a bid.

According to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport (via CalcioNapoli24), Napoli sent a bid of €35m plus €5m in bonuses to Torino.

The Granata rejected the proposal however and increased their valuation of Buongiorno up to €45m; it is unclear when Napoli submitted the offer.

Buongiorno has pushed his way into the Italy national team and could be in the spotlight this summer at Euro 2024.

The Azzurri have been placed in Group B in the tournament, along with Albania, Spain and Croatia.

Buongiorno has made 27 appearances in Serie A for Torino so far this season, going into the referee’s notebook on seven occasions.

It has been suggested he will prioritise staying in Serie A this summer.
