Shearer, on the other hand, is the Premier League’s all-time top scorer with 260 goals under his name.

And Richards won two major honours during his 10-year spell at Manchester City.

The legendary trio have hung up their boots for a long time but there are still certain aspects of the beautiful game that bothers them to a point that they can’t control their frustrations.

Shearer revealed that he can’t stand it when wingers cut inside the box and shoot instead of crossing the ball to the striker.

That is why the Newcastle great insists he wouldn’t stand playing for the current Manchester United team as Antony and Alejandro Garnacho do this “all the time”.

Shearer told The Rest is Football when asked to name his biggest pet hate: “Wingers cutting inside on their other foot and having a shot and not crossing it.

“That would do my nut in playing for Man Utd with those two, Antony and Garnacho, who keep doing that all the time.”

Richards went for a different flavour as he targeted a bad habit in midfield.

The Sky Sports pundit responded: “When midfielders have the chance to play forward, but play backwards just to keep their pass completion up.”

And Lineker went for something more relatable as he took a swipe at divers.

The Match of the Day host replied: “I think mine is the squealing when players get slightly touched on their ankle and they go down like they’ve been shot by a sniper.”
