It’s A Difficult Word – Philippe Clement Makes Admission On Rangers Players

0 7

Rangers boss Philippe Clement has indicated that he is still not satisfied with the fitness of the Gers squad and added that there is a margin to improve.

Under Clement, Rangers have seen a drastic improvement in their form and they have only lost one game since his arrival.

Clement took his Rangers side to La Manga in early January for a warm-weather training camp with the intention of improving different aspects of the squad, fitness being one of them.

However, the Rangers boss refused to say that he is satisfied with his team’s fitness but added that they are not in a bad position in terms of fitness.

Clement stated that his staff and his players gave their all during the January training camp, but he thinks that there is still a margin that can be improved on.

When asked whether he is satisfied with his team’s fitness after the La Manga training camp, Clement said at a press conference: “Satisfied is a difficult word.

“It is not bad in the situation that we are in.

“I think all staff and all players did their maximum what they could do in the period that we had [at La Manga] together to get the best out of it.

“But I think we still have a big margin to grow in that way in general in the entire squad.

“But it is difficult to do that when you have every three days a game.”

Rangers have narrowed the gap with first-placed Celtic to three points with a game in hand and it remains to be seen whether Clement’s side will be able to stop the Bhoys from winning another Scottish Premiership title this term.
