Club Preparing To Talk With Southampton Over Star On Loan From Saints

 

The Nigerian frontman joined struggling Premier League side Southampton in January, but was only given limited game time to show his abilities for the rest of the season.

 

Saints failed to keep their top-flight status last season as they suffered relegation to the Championship and Onuachu completed a season-long loan switch to Turkish club Trabzonspor.

 

 

 

He has been prolific for the Burgundy Blues as he has already contributed to seven goals directly in his first eight matches.

 

Trabzonspor fans and the club higher-ups are impressed with his performances and they are ready to take the next step for the forward.

 

 

According to Turkish daily Sabah, the Burgundy Blues are set to speak to Saints to add an option to buy at the end of the loan spell for the Nigeria international.

 

It has also been suggested that Southampton wanted to add a €15m buy option for Onuachu when he joined Trabzonspor, but the Turkish outfit rejected it.

 

 

Now they want to keep the player permanently after his bright start to the loan spell and it has been suggested that they will try to reduce the amount originally asked by Saints for the option to buy.
