Juventus considering January move for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

0 12

Juventus are eyeing a January move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who has struggled to secure a regular starting spot under Ange Postecoglou.

The 28-year-old has yet to start a Premier League game this season.

Spurs hoped to revamp their midfield under Postecoglou’s guidance, but with the emergence of Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr, along with Rodrigo Bentancur’s impending return, Hojbjerg’s opportunities have dwindled.

The Danish playmaker had sought a move during the summer transfer window, but the North Londoners were open to an outright sale, not a loan.

Although a move to Atletico Madrid was on the table, it didn’t materialise due to financial constraints or reluctance to meet Tottenham’s demands. Juventus, on the other hand, are now showing interest in Hojbjerg.

The Old Lady faces midfield troubles, especially with Paul Pogba’s uncertain future following a recent doping test, and they see Hojbjerg as a suitable addition. However, the Lilywhites are unlikely to let him go on the cheap, demanding a significant fee between £30-40 million.

While Atletico Madrid might return to the negotiation table, the Bianconeri appears to be a compelling option for Hojbjerg. As competition for his signature heats up, Tottenham stands to benefit from an outright sale.
