‘Believe’ – Spurs legend sends message after thrilling win over Sheffield United
Ossie Ardiles has taken to social media to express his delight at the manner in which Tottenham overcame Sheffield United yesterday, remarking that fans can now ‘believe’.
As we went into injury time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium yesterday, it seemed like the newly promoted side would emerge with a smash-and-grab win, which would kill all the early momentum that had been built up at the start of the Ange Postecoglou era.
Supporters would have been dreading the ‘Spursy’ headlines that would appear in media outlets the next day.
But instead of feeling sorry for themselves, the players kept fighting until the final whistle, managing to turn the result around in the dying stages of the game.
It was Richarlison, who had gone public about his mental health struggles last week (Globo Esporte), who was the hero on the night, coming off the bench to equalise with a header before setting up Dejan Kulusevski’s match-winner.
Ossie Ardiles liked what he saw from Tottenham
Ardiles praised the Brazilian as well as Postecoglou following the win but he was far from complimentary about the performance of the officials.
Great win today. So so exciting finale. Believe! .Very difficult game. Big congratulations to Ange, the coolest person in the stadium, and all the boys, particularly Richardlison. What an incompetent referee. 11 yellow cards and one red in a game nor particularly dirty. COYS COYS

Spurs Web Opinion
Wins such as this are invaluable not just to team spirit and morale but it also serves to reinforce the idea that they will be rewarded if they keep going right until the final whistle. The manner of that victory will hold us in great stead whenever we come up against low-block sides that frustrate us.
