Extremely bitter defeat in Freiburg

Despite their battling performance, TSG Hoffenheim lost 2-1 (1-0) away to SC Freiburg. The home side took the lead through Maximilian Eggestein in the fifth minute, before Angelo Stiller levelled the scores at 1-1 shortly after the interval (49). With Freiburg a man up following Ozan Kabak's dismissal for a second bookable offence in the 84th minute, Ritsu Doan scored the winner in the 89th minute.
