Re: Brutalist Brum
A_n_ECharles RoadNone of that alters the fact that the filigree cladding used on the Library is all but identical to the filigree cladding proposed by Mecanoo in their unsuccessful pitch to design the International Criminal Court in the Hague a few months earlier.
that's hardly pitching it around europe. they had an idea for a filigree they wanted to use on a building. because one design in another competition for a completely unrelated biulding was unsuccessful you think they should automatically never use that element in another design???
Exactly. Anyway I have never seen another building that looks anything like this one. To me, it is special. The library, the Cube, Selfridges and the Rotunda make a unique combination.
