Fan ‘stamped on by footballer Oli McBurnie’ feared he was ‘going to die’
SOCCER star Oli McBurnie is to be quizzed by police as a fan he allegedly stamped on revealed: “I feared I was going to die.”
George Brinkley, 26, was dragged over while celebrating on the pitch with thousands of Nottingham Forest fans after the club’s play-off semi-final victory over Sheffield United.
The supporter said he feared for his life and wants justice[/caption]He was surrounded by United staff and players and striker McBurnie, 25, was allegedly caught on video appearing to stamp on him.
George said: “I suffered two serious head injuries as a child so I was desperately trying to protect myself.
“If I’d been stamped on and my head smashed on the ground it could have killed me.
“McBurnie is a role model and shouldn’t be doing that. I want him to face justice.”
McBurnie denies deliberately stamping on George.
