Report: Experienced player waiting for Spurs’ move on new contract

0 4

According to LondonWorld, Hugo Lloris plans to remain at Tottenham but will wait for the club’s move on a new contract before considering any other options.

The 34-year-old has made 388 appearances for Tottenham since joining the club in 2012, but an exit could be on the cards at the end of the current campaign.

He has has entered the final year of his contract which expires at the end of the season, and will be free to talk to foreign clubs in January if a new deal is not agreed before the transfer window opens on New Year’s Day.

However, LondonWorld claim Lloris is open to staying in N17 and is waiting for Spurs to make their position known regarding a contract offer before he starts listening to potential suitors elsewhere.

The French international is said to be looking to secure a two-year extension as he is aware that his next deal will likely be his last, which would see an improvement on the £150,000-a-week wage packet he currently earns.

The report also claims that while negotiations appear tedious, there will be a compromise between Lloris and Spurs for a deal to materialise.

Spurs Web Opinion

Lloris has been one of the Tottenham’s longest servants and he has stuck by the club in its best and worst times during his stint. Spurs should definitely offer him a new contract as he is not showing signs of slowing down despite his age. Regardless, he deserves a fresh deal anyway.
