Leeds plot last-gasp bid for Norwich talent who shone in Prem last season

Leeds United are willing to make a late move for Norwich midfielder Todd Cantwell, according to a report.

Cantwell impressed last season in his first year in the Premier League, scoring six goals. However, it didn’t end well for his team, as Norwich were relegated.

Several clubs were linked with keeping Cantwell in the top flight earlier in the summer, with Newcastle, Manchester United, Tottenham and Liverpool among those said to be interested.

Rumours of a move have gone quiet since, though – but now a new contender has emerged.

According to Football Insider, Leeds are ready to test Norwich’s resolve late in the transfer window.

Marcelo Bielsa is keen to sign a new attacking midfielder before the transfer deadline. His main target so far has been Rodrigo De Paul, but it has been hard to meet Udinese’s asking price.

Cantwell may be an easier target to acquire, as only two years remain on his contract. Leeds watched him throughout last season, and are now willing to firm up their interest.

Leeds eyeing Dutch winger

Another attacking midfield target for Leeds is Utrecht winger Gyrano Kerk, according to reports.

Kerk provided 11 goals and 12 assists in 30 games last season, and Dutch reports claim Leeds are willing to pay the €10m asking price.

They are in a better position to do so than two rivals for his signature who want to take him to Serie A instead.
