Everton Cool Interest In Loan Target But Still Aim To Make Addition In Key Position

0 1

The 22-year-old defender played a half of football in Chelsea’s defeat at Liverpool on Monday, but his future at the club remains unresolved.

The centre-back wants to play regular football next season and he is unlikely to get that at Chelsea, who have signed Thiago Silva to reinforce their backline in the ongoing transfer window.

Everton have shown an interest in signing Tomori on a loan deal but that is unlikely to happen before the window slams shut on 5th October.

The Toffees have cooled their interest as they are not in a position to guarantee the regular minutes Tomori is demanding.

Michael Keane, Yerry Mina and Mason Holgate are likely to remain ahead of Tomori in the pecking order at Everton if he joins the club.

The Chelsea defender wants to go out on loan to a club where he will play week-in-week-out this season.

But Everton remain in the market for a centre-back as Carlo Ancelotti wants a cover in that position.

And they are likely to try and sign a defender on loan in the next two weeks.
