FIFA arrange private jet to get Iraq to Mexico for 2026 final qualifier
March 16 – Having officially asked FIFA for a postponement of their World Cup play-off match in Monterrey, Mexico, on March 31, Iraq have now confirmed they will travel.
FIFA had initially suggested the first part of their journey could be a 24-hour trip to Turkey by coach from Baghdad to Istanbul through the north of Iraq that has been under attack by the Iranians. They could then catch a flight from Istanbul.
