Cruyff faster than Maradona
Cruyff was quick mentally and physically but I think his physical speed is somewhat overlooked to an extent in comparison to Maradona whose acceleration is the subject of some renown. IMO Cruyff held his own in comparison and perhaps shaded him as the compilations of him featured are when he was over 30 in contrast to Maradona in his early 20s. Maradona was very quick running with the ball with phenomenal directional control at pace but I think cruyff had the edge in speed without the ball....
